So like,
WHAT WAS THIS
SKETCHBOOK'S
PROBLEM?
(aside from the Air Jordan/Heisenberg sticker mash-up)
It took
FOREVER
to get through this thing.
It started on
November 5th, 2013
And
FINALLY
ended on
April 6th, 2014
I usually can get through a
sketchbook in 3 months or so.
But this one dragged.
Mainly because I was working on a couple
sooper secret pitch books,
an illustration for
and
other stuffs.
And a huge portion of this book is filled
with some character design
I'm working on for a show idea.
Not sure it'll go anywhere,
but you never know.
But to be honest...
this was one of those volumes that
I just wasn't feeling.
Sometimes you think you're
drawing is moving forward.
Other times you're staring at a blank page
and everything you put down just feels
BLAH.
Sooper pal
says that if you put stickers
on a sketchbook before drawing in it,
it's bound to suck.
But I feel the opposite.
You can't start a book until you've got
it stickered.
And I stickered this one first,
but still...
meh
Regardless,
you fight your way through
and draw stuff like
map-wielding dwarves:
You go to the premiere of
And
you
draw
draw
draw:
And then one day
you're done:
And you move on to the next one!

Hey Mr. Warburton, are some of the sketches you just posted(i.e. the bearded samurai, the wet teen with the shark jet pack, and the tuxedo-wearing swordsman who looks like a cross between you, Father from KND, Sanji from One Piece, and Super Saiyan Goku from Dragon Ball Z) that same new show idea you just mentioned? I know you're fan of DBZ, One Piece, and even Hayao Miyazaki, which may explain the subtle anime influence of the designs, so I guess your next show will be subtlety anime-influenced as well?
Sorry, Liam... none of the stuff i posted is for any of the show ideas i'm working on. but you never know who will show up in the future.
