SECOND ANNUAL TVA & DTS SONORA SPEEDWAY!

The Earth rotated a little faster last Friday

because of the 

Second Annual 

Walt Disney Television Animation 

and 

Disney Toon Studios

Sonora Speedway

Event!

You heard about the first one over

HERE...

But this one was 

FASTER

FURIOUSER

FUNNER

and

STILL

%$#@!*

ELEVENTY THOUSAND

DEGREES CELSIUS

on the surface of that parking lot!

Fortunately there was plenty of shade,

drinks, slushies and even a couple fans to cool things down.

But there was no cooling down

the cars this year.

They were

and Penn Zero:

The course this year was simpler;

No perilous jumps or bridges covered in skulls,

just a big figure eight 

built for speed!

There were also churros:

This year,

instead of individual time trials,

the cars were timed in four car heats.

Three laps as fast as you can go!

The 7-D's

entry was piloted by none other than

Storyboard Revision 

soopuh star

David Shair:

It went down like this:

After that horrible crash we finished the race without most of our car and failed to make it into the top 8.

But the race 

roared on

into the semi-finals.

The Finals 

came down to

Penn Zero's Car,

TVA Casting and Music Department's entry,

Disney Toon Studio's

Shadow Hunter

(which could spew ball bearing out the back to foil other cars)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand...

I don't know whose that last car was.

In the end it was

The Shadow Hunter

that won it all!

FIRST ANNUAL SONORA SPEEDWAY EVENT!

Perhaps you heard 

the engines 

revving last week?

The tires screeching?

The crowds roaring?

That was the sound of the 

first annual

DISNEY TVA AND DTS

SONORA SPEEDWAY

EVENT

Before you get all like,

The whaaaaa?

Ima tell you:

First,

every department in

Disney Television Animation

and 

Disney Toon Studios

was given a 

scale model

remote control car

that they were to customize

to represent their team.

Team Sophia The First

made this:

Gravity Falls made this:

The 7D crew made this:

Fish Hooks

Noah Z. Jones

made... 

um...

this?

um...

anyway...

There were lots of great cars on display:

But these cars weren't made for show.

They were made for

SPEED!

Set up in the studio parking lot

was a 

MAJOR

racing course

with all sorts of obstacles:

Here's the TVA Casting Department

going for the big jump:

Each car was timed going 

through the course

with the top 8 going to the semi finals

and the top 2

going to the finals.

And the winner was:

Disney Toon Studio!

(sorry... no picture available)

(but they had cool jumpsuits so it's not shocking they won)

But there wasn't just 

RACING

going on

at this event!

There was a mini

CAR SHOW:

And there was

plenty of

FOOD AND DRINK:

Hot Dogs

Chicken Sandwiches

Sno Cones

and most importantly:

 How cool is it that Disney puts on

great events like this?

VERY COOL.

Now if we could get the 

weather to be under 100 degrees

next year

it'll be even cooler!
