Whaaaaaat?!
Season Four already?!
How is that
POSSIBLE?!
But don't worry.
There are still
TONS
of original storyboard pages
coming up.
But first we need
to talk about
storyboard artists.
Not Kim.
Not Maurice.
Not Matt.
and
Not Guy.
Enough about them!
Let's talk about their
ASSISTANTS!
Jesse Schmal
totally had
Kim's back!
Bob Suarez
rode shotgun for
Maurice Fontenot!
Abigail Nesbitt
put up with
Matt Peters'
incessant comic book
gabbing!
And
Quack Leard
was
Goose
to
Guy Moore's
Maverick.
It's their
sooper powers
that got these
storyboards
DONE
and they don't get enough credit for it.
So let's have a round of applause for them, please.
Thank you.
But enough about them
(for now)
Let's check out season four:

40A: Operation: FLUSH
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Maurice Fontenot
Fun Fact:
We always made it a point to have the
evil adult sooper villains
act even more childish than the kids in the show.
Having them bickering in the Treehouse over
who gets whose room
is a perfect example of that kinda fun stuff.

40B: Operation: RABBIT
Writer: Mr. Warburton
Storyboard: Guy Moore
Fun Fact:
Some people say we could reconstruct
all three Indiana Jones movies using
scenes from KND.
I have no idea what they're talking about.
<snicker>

41A: FOODFITE
Writer: Mr. Warburton
Storyboard: Kim Arndt
(who posed the hell out of this board!)
Fun Fact:
I'm a big fan of the
heavy metal mayhem of
GWAR
and was thrilled that they agreed to let
us write new lyrics for two of their songs.
But there was a problem:
They couldn't find the master tapes for the songs I wanted!
So what'd they do?
THEY RE-RECORDED
THE SONGS!!!
I'm still mad at myself for not flying
down to watch them record.
That would have
ROCKED!
Bonus Fun Fact:
Due to Gwar not being the most
kid appropriate band
we credited them as
RAWG
instead.

41B: Operation: CLUES
Writer: Mr. Warburton
Storyboard: Matt Peters
First appearance of
Numbuh Three's parents
GENKI and KANI SANBAN
Fun Fact:
Genki means
good and/or healthy
in Japanese and
Kani means
crab.
Bonus Fun Fact:
Having a guy named Santos
play Mushi was one of
the best things we ever thought of:

42A: Operation: MACARONI
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Maurice Fontenot
First appearance of
NUMBUH 13
FUN FACT:
Mr. Willems was getting very frustrated with me.
I wasn't liking any of the episode ideas he was pitching me.
And I wasn't feeding him anything he could latch onto.
And our deadline was approaching!
But then,
out of the blue,
I said,
Macaroni Museum of Art
Mo slammed his hand on the table and shouted,
THERE IT IS!
and ran off to write this episode.

42B: Operation: NUGGET
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Guy Moore
Fun Fact:
Much like the previous episode,
all Mo had to say was,
CHICKEN NUGGET GOLD RUSH
And I happily chased him out of my office with a broom
and told him to get writing.
Bonus Fun Fact:
I wanted to post the
Chicken Nugget Song
but this is better:

43A: Operation: POOL (part 1)
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Kim Arndt
Fun Fact:
One of the things I vowed we would
NEVER
EVUH
EVER
do
was an
EVIL TWIN
episode.
Then we did an
evil twin
episode
and everyone
LOVED
it.
People really like evil twin episodes.

43B: Operation: POOL (part 2)
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Matt Peters
Fun Fact:
Who knew the
BURIED IN THE SAND
song from
Operation: BEACH
would get so many versions:
__________________________________________
44A: Operation: CAKED-FOUR (part 1)
Writer: Mr. Warburton
Storyboard: Guy Moore
First appearance of
NICK and CHIP
Fun Fact:
Like Operation: SUPPORT,
this is one of those episodes that I'm
sooper proud of writing.
The idea that
Numbuh Two is such a hardcore tubing purist
that he won't upgrade his tube,
even in an anything-goes race,
still makes me smile.
So does
FARFIGTOOBIN.

44B: CAKED-FOUR (part 2)
Writer: Mr. Warburton
Storyboard: Maurice Fontenot
Fun Fact:
Cartoon Network asked us to tone down
Father's nasty verbal attack
on Numbuh Two about his dad.
But were able to convince them
that it was important to the story
and they let it ride.

45A: Operation: SITTER
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Kim Arndt
Fun Fact:
This is one of my favorite
Mo Willems lines of all time:
_____________________________________________
45B: Operation: SATURN
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Matt Peters
Fun Fact:
We had dabbled in some teeny bits of
computer animation here and there.
(ex: the opening of Operation: ARCHIVE)
But this was the first time we wanted to composite our 2D characters
into scenes with hundreds of CGI Rainbow Monkeys.
As always,
the computer division of Curious Pictures
rose to the challenge and the show looks
gorgeous.
_____________________________________________
46A: Operation: CHOCOLATE
Writer: Mo Willems
Storyboard: Maurice Fontenot
Fun Fact:
Mr. Fontenot nailed all the scenes with Heinrich
riding his wave of chocolate ala Ice Man.

Dang girl!
That's some good
storyboard!
Seriously.
Our storyboard team could
NOT
be beat.
Check back next week for
part deux
los
season four!
